A seventeen-year-old youth from Manchester died Tuesday night after a drinking game at a party organised to watch a recent speech by democratic candidate Barack Obama.
The sixth form student - identified as Bobby Graham - and his friends had decided they would drink each time Obama used the word "change" in his 15-minute address.
"I don't know how this could have happened," said his distraught school-friend James Condron, "Bobby was only taking tiny sips each time. He was even drinking the weakest beer we could find at the off-liscense 'cause he was so careful about these things."
The parents of Graham - who died shortly after arriving in hospital with three times the lethal limit of alcohol in his bloodstream - were not available for comment. However, his brother made an impassioned speech to journalists outside the house.
"We are living in culture where political rhetoric and lax drinking laws are taking the lives of our loved ones. I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks that something has to change" stated Michael Graham, before adding "Damn, does that still count? Shit, give me a beer then!"
